colourful lanterns in the blackness of the night.
we have bundles of fun!
we float our beautiful flax rafts.

we share great food
we make to have a great year.
food is delicious! Yummy pumpkin soup.
Ice cold it is, in the dark night! we all gather round.

All the children sing some songs

Into the shelter to share some food

Great poem Mangila.
I like how you wrote about the different things that people do during Matariki. The lights, food and singing are all things that I too love about the Maori New Year. Well done, Keep It up.

This is an excellent poem Mangila, you have identified many of the ways in which we celebrate Matariki and used poetic writing to share them. Very impressed.
